Large national carrier is seeking a property specialist .Individual should possess strong property experience in all areas claims , loss control, underwriting as well as product development .
Responsibilities:
Will be responsible for guiding engineers and underwriters in the development of values based on site specific evaluations. Will also contribute to corporate responsibilities that include procedures, training and audit functions.
Responsibilities include:
Develop and manage processes, tools and systems used by engineers and underwriters to quantify clients’ largest loss exposures.
Analyze presented scenarios and determine validity.
Develop and implement operating procedures.
Monitor business trends of industry groups and assume lead for specific occupancy groups.
Work with engineers and underwriters to communicate necessary recommendations.
Will be involved in site specific visits to resolve related issues.
Contribute to the development and presentation of corporate training programs.
Perform technical and procedural audits to identify areas for improvement.
Provide a strategic contribution to the continuous improvement of the underwriting process.
Qualifications:
Requirements:
B.S. Degree from an accredited engineering college or university, MBA highly preferred.
Ten plus years of engineering and underwriting experience with demonstrated progression in accountabilities
Highly proficient in commercial property insurance, business interruption analysis and risk assessment.
Experience with high challenge / special property risks.
Professional certification preferred, CPCU, CRM, CPE.
Solid analytical, communication, problem solving, presentation and decision making skills.
Will travel nationally and travel could be around 30%
