Health Actuarial Manager opening in NEW YORK. Responsible for preparing the initial analysis of monthly claim reserves as well as other rate filings. Manage premiums, claims, enrollment and administrative expense data for the production of monthly claim reserves, reports to government and regulatory entities (such as CMS, NYSID, NYDOH, etc.) and routine internal reports; perform initial analysis of all monthly claim reserves for review; prepare periodic product and rate filings for CMS, DOH and NYSID for all product lines, and provide input to senior management in proposing reserve assumptions and decisions; manage data incorporated into high level corporate reporting and monitor experience of all lines of business; provide annual rate filing assistance and analysis. Ideal candidate will have 5+ years of healthcare actuarial experience with at least 2 years in a managerial role; experience working with claims databases and data sets in an analytical capacity; experience with IBNR of managed care components (ideally Medicaid and/or Medicare); understand data structure and be able to assess the quality of files and resolve any problems; ASA or FSA credential plus; advanced Excel for financial modeling and projections; Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project and Access; basic SAS and database management.
