This insurance company client is greatly expanding marine business – blue water, brown water, cargo (includes war zones) marinas, ship repair, docks – and is seeking the “right” professional to lead the marketing and underwriting. Business may run through an MGU and it can be admitted and non-admitted.
Successful candidate will drive the sales/marketing and underwriting for his marine insurance company business. Will be responsible for growth and profit. Past combined ratio has been in the 80-90% range. Accounts range up to $200K from minimum premium. Will be directly involved with policy forms, excess insurance and reinsurance in addition to primary limits. Will hire and train staff as work load dictates. First year minimum goal is $6M in new business growth.
Strong current and technical knowledge and experience directing, leading, marketing and underwriting of wet marine business and cargo. Experience in developing and building a marine book of business. Experience in hiring and training both marketing and underwriting staff. Past experience in “running your own show”.
Total compensation is commensurate with past experience.
