Our client is a Midwest property and casualty insurer with a stable outlook and an A rating from A.M. Best. Recognized for its contributions in the commercial auto market, a Risk Management Specialist is responsible for high level loss control analysis for the transportation industry. Because of its unique inherent hazards, this position requires an individual knowledgeable in the nuances of preventing frequent and catastrophic trucking claims. Fleet size aside, you'll make recommendations designed to be utilized in the field. These programs will be based on trend analysis you witness and are applicable to transportation carriers interested in minimizing their auto liability, property damage, and cargo claims.
As Risk Manager • You'll identify, assessment, and analyze loss control data. You'll gather this information by working closely with underwriting, actuaries, and claims experts witnessing trends in commercial trucking risks. • You'll prepare risk scoring reports, analyze predictive modeling, and communicate results to the executive leadership team, and find creative ways to communicate benchmarking and tracking standards for safety improvement. • You'll create, implement, and monitor safety programs that comply with state regulations and reduce general liability, property, physical damage, and cargo claims • Some of your work will be designed in the field depending on the size and scope of the fleet trucking account; your ability to work directly with the insured in designing and monitoring safety programs is critical.
Risk Management Specialist Qualifications • Five (5) or more years experience in a commercial insurance loss control, risk management, or occupational safety role with a detail perspective on managing commercial transportation risks • Bachelor's degree preferred and industry certifications; familiarity with DOT, FMCSA and OSHA requirements necessary • Consultative approach to risk management with strong desire to work closely with clients and members of the agency • Highly analytical with understanding of predictive modeling, loss trends, and the application of successful safety management programs
