Surety Bond Underwriter – Job Open (2 openings)

Questpro is excited to be working with a top-rated Global Insurance company who is looking to hire (2) experienced Surety Bond Underwriters.

We are hiring for 2 openings, Underwriter level (2-4+ yrs) and Senior Underwriter level (5-7+ yrs). In order to be considered you MUST HAVE minimum of 2 years Surety Bond Underwriting experience. Our client will look to you to underwrite Surety bonds using generally accepted Surety underwriting guidelines. As an Underwriter you will be expected to be able to increase premium production through your relationships with agents and other related parties.

Responsibilities include:
- Managing daily bids and final bond requests
- Review and analysis of new Surety contract bonds
- Final approval of Surety bonds within your authority limits
- Manage the fiscal status of your accounts (audits, etc.)
- Ensure all required documentation and credit information in place
- Build upon existing agency relationships (regular meetings)
- Identify and secure new agent connections
- Provide quarterly updates and other reports to Sr Leaders
- Attend Surety Group regional meetings
- Work on special projects as needed

Required experience includes:
- Bachelors Degree preferred (Finance or Accounting ideal)
- Minimum of 2+ years of current Surety Bond underwriting experience (Jr) – Minimum of 6+ years experience for Senior Underwriter
- Experience with USA and Canada preferred (Global team)
- Any Reinsurance experience is a plus
- Account management and Portfolio management experience is expected
- Proven marketing abilities for new business
- Demonstrated experience with related financial analysis concepts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (collaborator)
- Experience with Excel, Word and other related technology
- Ability to travel 20-25%
- Need to be physically located on the East Coast or Central time zone
